Η Πηνελόπη σκοτώθηκε κατά τη διάρκεια του Ελληνικού Εμφυλίου το 1948, στην πορεία των Χιλίων Αμάχων από τον Γράμμο στη Ρούμελη, κατά τη συμμετοχή της στο Δημοκρατικό Στρατό. Αποσπασματικές μνήμες, πραγματικά γεγονότα, μαρτυρίες και μία ραπτομηχανή Singer συνθέτουν σταδιακά το πορτρέτο της. Οι υποκειμενικές προσεγγίσεις δίνουν την ευκαιρία στον θεατή να ανασυνθέσει την ιστορία της, υποκειμενικοποιώντας την επίσημη αφήγηση, δίνοντας χώρο στην ανάδειξη της ιστορίας από-τα-κάτω.

1948, amidst the Greek civil war Penelope, a new member of the Democratic Army (Partisans), was killed walking the march of the 1.000 unarmed people from Roumeli to Grammos. Fragments of memories, real evidence, oral testimonies, and a sewing machine -the only thing she left behind- compose Penelope's portrait. The subjective approaches of her story give the chance to the viewers to recompose it according to their own impressions. The viewer's raveling of Penelope's personal story constructs a familiar face. This process allows for the human character to break its way into the official historical narrative and offers a chance for the underground of history to emerge.
